Some time ago Twitch unveiled their plans to start selling a selection of games from the streaming site via Amazon, providing Twitch and it’s streamers with another revenue stream, as well as providing viewers with some rewards for purchasing from the site.
Today marks the day that Twitch begins to sell these games, with a total of around 50 games and add-ons that will now be available to purchase during a stream.
These games will be sold at normal prices, however, Twitch is offering some incentives to developers, streamers and viewers.
developers will be able to award fans with special offers if they watch streams at certain times, and the partnered Twitch streamers who opt in will be able to earn 5% of the sales that have been generated through their channel. For viewers, Twitch will provide rewards in the form of free Twitch Crates, which are digital boxes that reward a randomised drop of digital items, including emotes, chat badges, and Bits for Cheering.
Once you have purchased a game, you will be able to download it and play it through the Twitch Desktop App, or via the existing publishers game launcher, such as UPlay.
However, it is only launching in the US for the time being, but if you are from the US then you will be happy to know that Twitch is entering April buyers into a raffle for the chance to win $500 worth of pro streaming gear.
