Twitch has just announced that they will be allowing broadcasters to live stream games that are playable on mobile devices, kicking things off with Gameloft, the broadcaster has launched the new feature alongside a live stream from the developer for Asphalt 8: Airborne.

This also comes after the service launched their broadcasting feature for Microsoft’s Xbox One, and will allow anyone with a compatible app and a iPhone 5S, iPad Air or an iPad Mini to live stream from their mobile device.

“This first-ever mobile game integration with Twitch opens the door for gamers to broadcast and share game play experiences like never before,” Baudouin Corman, VP of publishing for the Americas at Gameloft, said. “As one of our most popular games, Asphalt 8: Airborne made perfect sense to integrate the Twitch mobile SDK.”

This functionality also comes with a new update to Asphalt 8: Airborne, which now has new events, cars, and a revamped user interface alongside the Twitch integration.

Gameloft say that they will be hosting a 24-hour live stream later this week on their Twitch channel to show off some of the new features, as well as host Q&A session, with giveaways and interviews.
