Finally Twitter have decided to release their own official app for the new Windows 8 operating system, after they crushed a few third-party applications with recent API changes.

The new app is available from the Windows Store in 22 languages and features the usual tabs found in other apps for various platforms including, home, connect, discover and me.

One of the best features is the support for Snap View, which allows the user to snap the app to one side of their screen, leaving the desktop view on the other, so you can basically view Tweets from the Windows 8 version of the app, whilst typing out a word document.

This view also provides access to the search functions.
