Twitter has today rolled out a new advertisement to attract new advertisers to the platform, called ‘First View’, the ad is described as a “premium placement, maximum reach” advertisement.
To achieve this, the video ad will remain live on Twitter for a total of 24 hours, showing to users when they first visit Twitter on the app or log into Twitter.com. This ad will be placed in the top ad slot within the timeline view, marked as a promoted Video from the brand.
It will sit between the first and third tweet in a timeline, which makes it impossible to miss.
Unlike other Twitter ads, this new ‘First View’ ad will not target users, and will instead appear across the platform to all users for an entire day.
The new ad will be available to select partners in the US now, but Twitter says that it plans a global launch in the coming months.
This comes after huge controversy’s about Twitter, and some worries that the company is not effectively targeting new user’s.
