Twitter have today announced that they have updated their Windows Phone application to look a lot more like their other apps on both Android and iOS, to get to which they have completely updated the UI, adding a new follow tab based interface.

The top of the app will now display separate icons for different actions, including search, profile, home, mentions and hashtags, next to which there is now a new compose Tweet button, allowing you to write out your latest Tweet from anywhere in the app.

Twitter have also added new and improved support for live tiles, allowing the app to show lists and searches from your linked accounts on the homescreen.

The updated application is now available for download from the Windows Phone marketplace.
