Quite some time ago Twitter launched a brand new live streaming app for Apple’s iOS platform called Periscope, leaving Android users behind.

That has changed this week however as the app has now released on Android, allowing Android users to live stream video and watch live streams from Periscope users from their Android device, allowing users to get as social as they like.

Periscope lets you broadcast live video to the world. Going live will instantly notify your followers, who can join, comment and send you hearts in real time. The more hearts you get, the higher they flutter on the screen.

The new Periscope application will only work with some versions of Android however, currently only compatible with Android smartphones and tablets that are running Android 4.4 KitKat or above.
