Apple has always been confident on the aspect ratio of their devices, however according to recent rumours the company may be launching not one but two new 12.9 inch iPads in 2014, one with a Retina display featuring a 2048 x 1536 resolution and the second with a 4K display with a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution.

This information comes from a report that was published earlier today, stating that Apple are currently testing 5 different iPads with the new 12.9 inch screen size, rumoured to be launching the Retina display version first and the 4K version soon after.

The Retina display model is expected to be named the iPad simply and the 4K version is said to be called the iPad Pro.
