During their third-quarter financial report announcement, Ubisoft confirmed some tough news that Assassin’s Creed will not return in 2016, but also that Watch Dogs will be making a return in the form of Watch Dogs 2.

During the call, Ubisoft also announcement that they “will launch a very high-quality line-up, including For Honor, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, [and] the next installment of Watch Dogs,” alongside the launch of “a new high-potential AAA brand with strong digital live services,” although they did not fully explain these services.

Despite the Watch Dogs series being a huge disappointment for many, this may serve as some commiseration to those who were saddened by the Assassin’s Creed news.

If that is the case then you will be happy to know that Watch Dogs 2 will launch before the end of April 2017.

We don’t yet know any official news about Watch Dogs 2, but we suspect that we might see more either at this year’s E3 event in June or at a separate event sometime after.

When we do learn more we will let you know.
