The latest version of Ubuntu is now available to download, now at version 13.10 the update is free to download either via the Canonical website or view the update panel within Ubuntu.

The new update is still ass open source and free as before, but now includes a few new features to keep it interesting, most importantly is that it now works with Smartphones, allowing users to use the OS on both their Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 smartphones.

Alongside which, there’s some new features for businesses that allows them to build private clouds and virtualization deployments, with faster and more efficient cloning of containers.

However for some, these features are not exactly true as the beta for the software has been available for some time now, and it won’t be long until the next update as Canonical is already working on Ubuntu 14.04, expected to launch sometime in April 2014.
