Sony Studios has today announced that it will be releasing a live action film adaptation of Uncharted in June 2016, called Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the series will follow on form the already film like goings on of the game series.

As of yet no lead actor has been announced to play the character of Drake, however it is rumoured the studio is currently in talks with Mark Wahlberg for the part.

We also know that it will be written by David Guggenheim, who is also at work with Bad Boys 3, and has previous worked on Safe House.

Charles Roven will also be involved on the production, after his previous work on the Dark Knight films, 12 Monkeys and Man of Steel.

The current plot description for the film, on IMDB, says: “A descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray.”

Finally we know that the film will be released on June 10th 2016.
