Today Microsoft’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb revealed some new details about an upcoming update to the Xbox One that is rolling out to preview program alpha members from today.

With this new update, Microsoft will be delivering a brand new dashboard that will be completely customisable by the player.

And it isn’t just that. The update will also bring a modernized community page, a new guide menu and some new custom content blocks for your home page.

With this, you will remove the vertical columns from the March update with a new horizontal page that consists of these customisable blocks, ads, hints, and some suggestions. But you can actually pin just about anything to this new home page, including Games, friends, and services.

You can pin as much of these to the home screen as you want, or pin nothing.

The guide also shows as a pop-up box in the update, which has a series of topics that can be navigated with the Xbox One controller’s bumpers or analog stick, similar to the  Xbox 360.

The community page will also allow you to customise what feeds are shown, with the option to show friends, popular games, followed clubs and other favourite content.
