HTC kicked off shipments for their new Tracker Development Kits for the HTC Vive virtual reality headsets this week, with shipments coming to those who pre-ordered the kit some time ago.

HTC has said that they received more than 2,300 applications for the kit since they first opened the registration process for the unit, and from from the first units that HTC has ready are coming.

These units have been designed to allow developers to begin developing applications and game for use with the Tracker and the HTC Vive, allowing them to create more interactive experiences with motion-tracking capabilities.

It is expected that the HTC Vive Tracker will be launched as a consumer product in Q2 2017, however, no details on the pricing or availability has been revealed by HTC just yet.
