You may know about VLC because it is pretty much the best solution to play videos on your computer, with the capabilities to play basically any video format or pretty much any platform.

This week VideoLan (the creators of VLC) announced that they will expanding that with the release of a new technical preview, which brings support for playing back 360-degree videos.

It is now available on Windows and Mac machines as a preview, and a full version is set to be released with the launch of VLC 3.0 at the end of the month.

VideoLan has also said that they are looking to launch the 360-degree viewing features on mobile soon as well.

With the feature, you will be able to view 360-degree photos, panoramas, and videos, on mobile it will work with the accelerometer to navigate the content, on desktop, you will use your mouse and keyboard to do the same.
