Western Digital has today announced another NAS storage solution, called the My Cloud EX 2 CLoud Storage device, it is said to provide “ultimate reliability” for storage. Said to be aimed at the “prosumer” it allows users to share and back up large amounts of data, with 512MB memory on board and a 1.2GHz processor.

There’s also an integrated file server, with FTP server, backup server and a P2P download server, as well as allowing users to access a number of third-party applications that includes aMule, Icecast, Jommla!, phpBB, phpMyAdmin, Transmission, SqueezeCenter and many more.

Western Digital explains : “You are always connected to your personal cloud. Save valuable space on your mobile devices with easy photo and video uploads directly to your personal cloud, then securely access and share your memories from anywhere.

“Users can also stream videos and photos to connected TVs, media players, gaming consoles and other DLNA/UPnP devices with the included Twonky 7.2 server, DLNA-certified 1.5 media server, and built-in iTunes server,”
