Earlier this month the popular, cross-platform messenger WhatsApp has returned for download from the Windows Phone store.

The return comes with the latest update to the application, version 2.8.0.0 which is still free for the first year and brings a few new features to the platform such as new search, my status and create group options in the toolbar alongside better control over notifications and of course some performance improvements.

Where not sure why the app originally disappeared, but I guess it was just so the developers could work on this update, what do you think?
