At their BUILD 2016 event this week, Microsoft has announced that they are releasing an Anniversary Update this summer.

Set to bring a number of new features to the Windows 10 platform, it will enhance the system further since it was released earlier last year.

According to Microsoft, since it launched Windows 10 has been used by over 270 million users, who are running Windows 10 on over 500 different devices.

With the Anniversary Update, Windows 10 will get a number of new features, including a dedicated ink apps workspace that allows for quick access to “pen friendly” apps from the desktop or lock screen, with better integration for pen and finger drawing.

There will also be a number of new Windows Ink tools and capabilities to allow for editing documents in Word and other applications with the use of the pen.

Windows Hello will also be included in the update, allowing users to unlock devices, apps and protected sites on Microsoft Edge without the need for a password, just via their fingerprint.

This will all be released for free to all Windows 10 users this summer.
