After the release date leaked the other day, Microsoft has finally revealed the release date for the Windows 8.1 operating system, officially revealed as October 17th in the US and October 18th at 12am in New Zealand.

The update will be available for free for anyone who already has Windows 8, and is available at retail stores from the 18th onwards.

As of yet, there’s no news on the UK release date.
