Withings has today announced their own smartwatch, but in a form that is a little different to the normal everyday smartwatch. It is called the Withings Activite which comes with a traditional Swiss watch design and a fitness tracker inside.

The watch was designed by a group of French designers, and was made by a group of Swiss watchmakers, who constructed it with a 316L stainless steel body, a sapphire crystal screen and a leather strap, which will be available in both black and silver.

Inside the watch you will find a tracker and an advanced accelerometer, that can detect the users movement when they walk, run or swim, and can even calculate the users activities, working out the distance traveled and calories burned.

And to top that off, the Activite can also track your sleep patterns, and even has a built in alarm clock, alongside something called ‘Connected Movement’ which means it has been certified for long term accuracy and procession.

The watch will also connect to iOS devices using Bluetooth LE and in conjunction with the Withings Health Mate app, which allows the users to develop personal activity plans, monitor the users progress, share their results and more.

The Withings Activite will launch in August, available worldwide for £320 in the UK and $390 in the US.
