Withings unveiled a new smartwatch at IFA this week, called the Steel HR, which takes on from their Steel series of smartwatches and features a minimalistic, classic design that comes with a number of modern features.

It uses similar design elements to that of Withings’Activité watches, featuring a stainless steel casing that comes in both 36mm and 40mm size ranges.

The 36mm version will be compatible with an 18mm band and the 40mm version will be compatible with 20mm straps, for which you have a number of options from Withings to choose from, including both leather and silicon versions.

What makes this version particularly interesting is the screen that has been built into it, which has been combined with a new crown button on the side of the watch, which will double up as a power button for that display. On this tiny, round display you will find information like the calories that you have burned, the steps that you have taken, the distance that you have travelled, your heart rate, and even notifications from your smartphone.

It will also feature a battery life that is said to last up to 25 days from a single charge, after which, it will turn on its non-activity-tracking mode and extend its battery life by an extra 20 days.

That equates to a total of up to 45 days of battery life.

The 36mm Withing Steel HR version will be priced at $180, and the 40mm version of the Steel HR will be priced at $200, it will be available for purchase in the US at the end of October, we don’t yet know about other regions.
