This week the UK Government approved plans to build the world’s largest wind farm in the UK.

The mammoth of a wind farm will be built offshore, featuring a total of 300 wind turbines that is enough to produce up to 1.8 Gigawatts of electricity.

That much electricity is enough to power 1.8 million homes across the UK.

The government explained more about it with the following:

When complete, the windfarm will deliver up to 1,800 megawatts of low carbon electricity to around 1.8 million UK homes.

The windfarm would create up to 1,960 construction jobs and 580 operational and maintenance jobs. If built to the full capacity, the investment would total around £6bn providing a great opportunity for economic growth in the Humber region and beyond.
