What claims to be the “world’s smallest router” his hit the Indiegogo crowdfunding website this week, called the VoCore 2, it is an open source Linux computer that is smaller than the size of a coin, but features all of the functionality of a wireless router.

And because it is open source, you can also write code for it in C, Java, Python, Ruby, Javascript, and more.

The creators of the project say that it can perform as a VPN gateway, an airplay station to play lossless music, a private cloud to store all of your photos, videos or code, or just a WiFi signal booster.

The VoCore 2 has 300Mbps Wi-Fi, with Ethernet, USB 2.0 host, UART, SD, SPI, I2C, 40+ GPIOs and everything you need to get open sourcing with it, including full source code and a circuit diagram.

It is powered by a 5V microUSB cable and features a 9,800mAh Li-battery.

You can find out more about the router at the source link below, where you can also back the project if you are interested.
