This week Microsoft announced that Xbox Live will be getting custom profile pictures, coming first to those who are members of the Xbox Insider program.

Once gamers get it they will be able to choose a custom image for their Xbox Live profile picture, instead of having to choose between an avatar or snapshot from a game.

They have said that you will be able to choose this profile picture directly from an Xbox One, from a Windows 10 PC, or from a smartphone.

The first will be released first to Xbox Insider members, after which it will be rolled out to all Xbox One users over time, however, they did say that it will “be in preview longer than other features to ensure it’s great for everyone when released.”

Alongside this, Microsoft is also adding the ability to filter Xbox One and Xbox 360 games in the ‘My Apps and Games” screen, which will also be released to Xbox Insider program members first, after which it should make its way to everyone soon after.

We will update you as we hear more about these features and other features.
