Microsoft has today announced that the Xbox One will soon get backwards compatibility with the old Xbox 360 titles, allowing players to play games that were originally available on the Xbox 360 but on the Xbox One.

The new feature will allow users to play downloaded Xbox 360 games, or disc Xbox 360 games, and all of the compatible games will be available with a number of Xbox Live features.

Available for everyone this holiday, or for preview members from today.

When it launches in Fall this year the feature will allow for Xbox One backwards compatibility with over 100 games, but those who are on the Xbox One preview program will be able to access 18 games from today, and those are:

  • Hexic HD

  • Super Meat Boy
  • Toy Soldiers
  • Toy Soldiers: Cold War
  • Viva Piñata
  • Viva Piñata: TIP
