The iPhone application, Summly has today been acquired by Yahoo, who will be using the application to add to their existing services, services which has not been announced just yet. However Nick, the apps founder said the following: “removing Summly from the App Store today but expect our summarization technology will soon return to multiple Yahoo! products – see this as a ‘power nap’ so to speak.”

The app was first founded when he was only 15 years old, receiving a lot of support along the way, more notably from Apple’s Best Apps of 2012 awards, the app simply summarizes articles.

It will be sad to see the app go, but I expect Yahoo will do something cool with it.
