Alongside the launch of a new design of the Sky+ UI and system, Sky also announced the launch of some new features for their Sky Kids app on smartphones and tablets.

In particular they added a new offline feature that allows you or your kids to download your/their favourite shows onto their tablet.

Sky explained more with the following:

From today, the Sky Kids app lets customers with Sky Go Extra or Sky Multiscreen download their kids’ favourite shows to watch on their tablets, wherever you are, even with no Wi-Fi. So while you’re in the midst of a traffic jam the little ones in the back are entertained, giving those in the front enough peace and quiet to make those important holiday decisions – beach or cocktails?  Or both?

We’ve been really pleased with the response to the app from customers and their kids since it launched earlier this year. We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of households download the app, streaming over 15 million episodes so far.
