Google has cut out the middle man today, launching an updated version of their YouTube application that will allow iOS owners to pair directly a TV, PS3 or Xbox 360, much the like what is currently seen within the Android version of the application.

This addition means that you no longer need a second box plugged into your TV just to check out the latest cat video, and as long as your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone is connected to the same WiFi network, you can easily stream video to your TV.

Go on, try it out, the update is available now from the iTunes App Store.
