Today Sony announced news that makes the VR headset for the PlayStation 4 games console will be getting another feature that allows it to compete closer with PC VR headsets.

This is the news that the YouTube app for the PlayStation 4 has been updated to allow you to watch 360-degree videos with the PSVR unit.

Sony revealed this news on their official Twitter account with the following Tweet:

It will be interesting to see how PlayStation VR is updated over the future and how it will compete with the other popular virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

We also expect that Microsoft may soon unveil their own plans to bring virtual reality to the Xbox One, however, they have not yet revealed any details about those plans, despite a partnership with Oculus to pack Rifts with Xbox One controllers.
