We reviewed the USB version of the YubiKey some time ago, it’s a pretty great option for securing your online accounts with a one-time password key, but sadly that version only works with the old version of USB, which isn’t going to work with new devices like the new MacBook pro.

It was created by Yubico, who revealed a new version of their YubiKey 4 authentication dongle that has been created for use with USB-C ports, which is similar to the previous USB version, this new version supports multiple authentication protocols, including Universal 2nd factor, smart card, and the one-time mechanism from Yubico.

It will cost $50 and will be available from Yubico’s store on February 13th.

It’s a great option and one that I will be picking up personally, securing your online accounts is extremely important as more and more services are being hacked, your data has become vulnerable.

With Yubikey, you can secure services like Google, Dropbox, GitHub, Salesforce, LastPass, Dashlane, and more with Yubico’s one-time authentication.

You can find out more about the device at the source link below.
