It has today been announced that the BBC Radio 1 DJ, Zane Lowe will be leaving the BBC in March in order to start a new job at Apple.

That comes after the DJ has worked with the BBC for over 12 years in a range of positions, today that position is to host a number of shows for Radio 1. As part of his new job Zane Lowe and his family will be relocating to Cupertino.

Apple has yet to reveal what Lowe will be doing in his new job, however there are a number of things you might be able to guess.

Probably the best of those guesses would be to join some sort of role within iTunes Radio, which has yet to make much of an impact against other established streaming services.

It also has yet to launch in other countries than the US and Australia.

What we think is the most likely, is that Zane Lowe will be working to create playlists for Tunes Radio.

That said it’s quite possible that he will be working for iTunes in general, working to help discover new music, and maybe even manage the annual iTunes Festival that Apple hosts.

At the moment however everything is speculation.
